During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle.

The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle. 11 bit also clarified that for those that want to play through the original game untouched, the “Final Cut” iteration of the game will also feature the ability to play through the “vanilla” version of the game from when it was first released. In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. In addition to the content updates, This War of Mine: Final Cut also features new visual enhancements such as 4K UI adjustments, support for 21:9 display monitors, and remastered iterations of classic levels from the original game. Specifically, this update (which is free to all owners of the game on Steam) provides new content in the form of a new character, new scenario, and other events and quests from the “Stories” DLC integrated into the main game. In celebration of the game’s five-year anniversary this week, developer 11 bit studios has released a new update for This War of Mine called the “Final Cut” update. Five years on from its original release back in 2014, 11 bit studios’ This War of Mine has still left a mark thanks to its harrowing stories and challenging gameplay, and the studio is aiming to recognize its accomplishments with a brand new update to thank its community, five years later.
